Inanimate Objects Killing Spree Shocks Nation—Maybe Costas Was Right

Recently a rash of humanless killings by inanimate objects has shocked the nation, causing Americans to wonder whether Bob Costas—a liberal national sportscaster—was right when he suggested that guns are the source of the problem when it comes to tragedies such as the murder-suicide involving Jovan Belcher earlier this week.

Costas, spokesman for the N.F.L. (Not Fully Loaded)—an association of mentally challenged sportscasters—recently made big headlines as he pronounced in essence that “people do not kill people, inanimate objects do.”

Tragically, recent events across America seem to have proved him right. And Hugh Betcha, Ace Reporter for the Stoos Views Media Conglomerate and winner of the MSNBC award for “The Most Trusted Journalist in America, 2012” followed the story. Researching the crime pages across America, Hugh discovered the following:

Dateline Chicago: On November 30, 2012, an AR-15 walked into the First National Bank of Chicago, holding a teller hostage then made off with $10,000 in cash, mixing in with a busy crowd on the street and escaping with the loot.

UPI reported on December 1, 2012 that in San Francisco a nickel plated .38 Specialrobbed a McDonald’s restaurant of $15.00 then shot up the restaurant while screaming patrons ducked under cover. Escaping into the night, the pistol eluded a police chase and made off with the loot. Police have posted an all points bulletin and have sought the public’s input in an effort to capture the gun but, as one police spokesman stated: “We posted a picture of a .38 pistol on local TV but since they all look alike, we have had little success locating the suspect weapon. “

In a tragic case in Texas on the evening of December 2, 2012, the small town of East Overshoe, Texas was shaken in a series of senseless murders when Irving Senseless and his wife and kids were murdered in their home by a butcher knife. Police had no explanation for the killings but suspect that this was the same knife that is responsible for multiple murders across Texas during the past two weeks. “This is one bad knife,” stated Buck Wheet, spokesperson for the Texas Rangers, who indicated that a state wide dragnet has been cast for the murderous implement. Read the rest of the article here:

  While President Obama campaigns hard for Congress to raise taxes on America’s highest earners — insisting on no deal to resolve the looming fiscal crisis without it — there is little evidence to back up his sales pitch that it will go a long way to reducing the nation’s runaway deficit.
  
  In fact, history shows that similar tax hikes resulted in less additional revenue than expected, and other unintended consequences.
  
  Economists point to then-British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s proposal in April 2010 to increase the marginal tax rate by 10 percent — to 50 percent — on residents earning more than $1 million. As a consequence, the number of people declaring that amount of income or more dropped from 16,000 to 6,000 in the 2010-2011 tax year, according to Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, the United Kingdom’s tax collection agency.
  
  Before Brown’s proposal, Britain’s wealthiest composed roughly 9 percent of the country’s tax pool. That percentage dropped by half — to roughly 4.4 percent — after the proposal.
  
  It is believed that rich Britons moved abroad or took steps to avoid paying the new levy by reducing their taxable incomes, according to a report in the London Telegraph.
  
  Could enactment of Obama’s tax hike on high earners — raising the marginal rate to 39.6 percent, from 35 percent — in return for preserving existing Bush-era rates on Americans earning less than $250,000 annually have a similar effect?

COURT HEARS CHALLENGE TO OBAMA RECESS APPOINTMENTS Bypassed Senate to fill vacancies in administration

(AP) WASHINGTON — Republicans and business groups told a federal appeals court Wednesday that President Barack Obama violated the Constitution earlier this year when he bypassed the Senate to fill vacancies in his administration.

Attorneys for the groups told a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit that Obama abused his power in January when he made recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board.

I would suggest there is a huge cloud hanging over the National Labor Relations Board right now," said Noel Francisco, attorney for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other groups challenging the action.

The case is an important test of presidential power and could determine whether the Senate can indefinitely block presidential appointments by refusing to adjourn. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky came to watch the hearing in a packed courtroom. McConnell and 46 other Senate Republicans filed a friend-of-the-court brief arguing the appointments are invalid.

BOEHNER BOOTS ANOTHER GOP CONGRESSMAN Moderate Republican repeatedly voted against speaker's wishes

(WASHINGTON TIMES) Rep. Walter Jones, a rare moderate Republican, said he was “very disappointed” and “a little bit surprised” he was booted from a plum committee assignment after he repeatedly voted against House Speaker John A. Boehner’s wishes.

But the North Carolina lawmaker said he isn’t angry, has no regrets and vowed to continue to vote his conscience.

“I’m not going to sacrifice my integrity for anyone or any party,” Mr. Jones told a gathering of reporters at the Capitol Tuesday. “It’s the price you pay. I didn’t come up here to be a puppet for anyone. And I think the public back in my district, which is the most important, has seen I’m willing to do what I think is right.”

Mr. Jones, who easily won a 10th term to the House last month, and fellow Republican Rep. David Schweikert of Arizona are losing their seats on the House Financial Services Committee, while GOP Reps. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Justin Amash of Michigan will lose their seats on the House Budget Committee.

Mr. Jones has voted against his party about 30 percent of the time, records show.

Michael Steel, a spokesman for Mr. Boehner, said Tuesday the party's steering committee made the decision "based on a range of factors," the Associated Press reported.

There is a subpoena issued to Occidental College posted over at Taitz's blog, among other places, that commands Occidental to provide all records related to Barack Hussein Obama and Barry Soetoro. The subpoena purports to be from Montgomery Sibley'selectoral college challenge in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. The subpoena is dated November 16, 2012. I've reached out to Mr. Sibley for comment and will update this post if he provides one. The pertinent part of the subpoena:
